  • Forbidden West is spectacular. That game deserves success. Especially if u own a PS5. It’s a true showcase. Vastly superior to HZD and it deserved better scores.

Sifu is a hit. I’m proud of SloClap. They published the game themselves and probably made a fortune.

Remember when certain people claimed Miles Morales was a flop? Lol.

I’m playing through Elden Ring right now because I had to see what some people say the greatest game of all time is. The vast majority of critics rated this game perfect so I had to see what a perfect game was like. It honestly feels like Dark Souls 4 with an open world and the jank is as bad as ever. The game seems great but the overhype is real. Far from perfect.

    • Elden Ring

      🌋

    • Exactly

    • I’m making over $25000 a month working part time. I kept hearing other people tell me how much money they can make online so I decided to look into it. Well, it was all true and has totally changed my life. Last month my pay check was $26385 just working on the laptop for 3 hours. This is what I do

  • Elden Ring will go down as another open world gamechanger on the level of BotW: showing lazy devs bereft of creativity that yes, you CAN make an open world game that isn’t just tedious Ubitower garbage. Sorry, Horizon, you got dunked on again lmao

    • Elden Ring is an absolute mess lol. It’s billed as a new IP yet it’s Dark Souls in a giant, empty open world. It reused mechanics from Demon’s Souls 2009 lol. Animations, reused Dark Souls assets, reskinned enemies from DeS, DS1, DS3, reused bosses, awful foliage, bad AA, stuttering, bugs, the same tutorial boss that one hits you. And that’s just early in the game I can’t wait to see more. It still has the same bad NPCs that don’t move their mouths or are covered by masks to make up for the fact that from software was too lazy to do real lip syncing. NPCs that don’t move. It still has ugly character models and average looking graphics. It’s still the same convoluted nonsense with the story at least so far.

      – Frame rate is atrocious
      -crashing issues
      – pop in
      – clipping
      – enemy reskins
      – old animations
      – DS assets
      – bad texture swap
      – questionable AI at times
      – questionable story so far
      – large Barren open world at times

To say that nothing is lazy or wrong with Elden Ring is a joke. I’m not far enough to say it’s a great game but I’m sure it’s fantastic just like previous from software games but to dub this as one of the greatest games of all time and a true gaming revolution would be inaccurate from what I have experienced. Some of the VFX do look good I will say that is improved and the world is absolutely gigantic even if a bit empty at times. There are a few new things like weapon skills and guard counters and a jump button LOL. I’m not hating on the game but somebody needs to keep things grounded.

It’s absolutely fine if you want to praise the newest Souls like but why would you have to attack Forbidden West in the process? It’s a truly great game and to suggest that Guerrilla was lazy when developing it is the absolute laziest casual propaganda I have seen in quite some time. Virtually everything has been improved since Zero Dawn and the game is a technical showcase for the PS5. The open world is infinitely more interesting. Settlements, traversal, combat, skill tree, gear, enemy variety, side quests, activities, NPCs, AI, weapon variety, mo cap, animations, visuals, QoL, audio, and more have all seen significant improvement. The dual sense and 3D audio implementation is fantastic, the game is a visual benchmark. New enemy types are frequent and impressive. They included board games, fighting pits, massively improved ruins, new puzzles, combat arenas, new tribes and regions, Hollywood actors, Mount racing, underwater exploration, a home base, more relics from the old world strewn about like crashed planes and buses and broken highways and deathbringers and tanks. Forbidden West is a great game and basically the prototype for how to do a sequel.

And you claim Zelda dunked on Zero Dawn yet that game was a new IP and sold over 20 million copies LOL. I’m passionate about Sony but let’s not pretend that your agenda is not showing. Maybe pull up your fly next time?

    • And BotW didn’t even have voice acting with the side characters from what I have seen. It’s text like we are in 1993 LOL. That’s lazy imo. Call me crazy but I like 21st century amenities. I don’t mind good graphics either. It’s all part of the soup.

BotW excels in certain areas but it also has weaknesses. There are many areas where even Zero Dawn “dunked” on Zelda. Unless story, combat, visuals, and voice acting mean nothing because it doesn’t suit your agenda?

Let’s just celebrate the fact that there are so many great games on PlayStation right now. It’s a shame people over hype and it’s more shameful that certain games get underscored. I understand people sticking up for games they feel don’t get the love they deserve but what I don’t understand is people jumping on the bandwagon for games that are already overhype. If you want to feel good about breath of the wild don’t self-congratulate on Playstation blog just go on a Nintendo forum or basically anywhere because it’s not hard to find casuals who praise Elden Ring and breath of the wild as the second coming. You will be with your kind just go on Twitter or something and stay out of the blog.

    • Yep, if Horizon didn’t feel like the first game, it might’ve done better.
Can’t imagine many people think a $70 20-hour+ story game is better than a $60 brand new 40-hour+ arpg ip from FromSoftware.

    • He didn’t attack H:FW, he just said it was bad timing for the relase again. Elden Ring is billed as a new IP because it’s a new setting as in world/story. Never did they advertise it to be anything other than a souls game. With Elden Ring we exactly got what we expected and much more.

    • See how she points out data reuse in Elden, but doesn’t mention horizon’s data reuse?
Whenever she sees a threat to one of her ps games, she goes full shill. Ignore it, she’s got a mental issue she’s working through, obviously.

  • Bruh, you just dropped like 10 paragraphs over the mildest comment imaginable. Screaming “agenda agenda agenda OMG!” does… what, exactly? Because it certainly isn’t me that’s malding with impotent gamer rage over literally nothing lmao. You need to go touch grace, my dude.

Also, for the record, Elden Ring is definitely not perfect and NOT one of the greatest games of all time (Bloodborne is actually much better; I’d swap their metacritic scores) but it’s still easily the best game so far this year. Zero contest.

  • Nice and good.

Horizon Forbidden West is the best 💗🔥💛

  • Elden Ring dominated as expected, now that’s a true GOTY contender.

  • Did you download, or pick up physical?
    💿

  • Elden Ring, Horizon, Dying Light 2, Sifu, Destiny 2: Witch Queen… (I feel like I’m missing one more, but can’t remember😂)

    This month was stacked!!!

  • Well deserved!! Also play Elden Ring right now and have a massive good time. Can’t get it out of my mind really.

Btw why ppl got upset with the positive score it gets? It is not perfect, but it does deliver what it promised and more. The critics are the one who gave the high score, the users score is fair considering the jank, so I guess it even out things for the game. Why have to be so salty about game that many people seems to enjoy? If it’s not for you, if you think it is messy then fine nobody would blame you. It’s not for everybody to begin with.

But a hype game is a hype game, it is often overrated, this one is too on the critics side of things but it doesn’t mean that you have to be a party popper who preach how imperfect the game is to everybody that is hype for it and actually like it.

For me at least, I know that it is janky and the graphic is perhaps dog poop compared to HFW but well I did not play the game for the graphic fidelity and the jank does not really hinder my experience playing it. Sure it uses a lot of old assets and animation from the previous games but it is that familiarity that makes people like it. I felt like a natural progression for this game. To say it is just another Dark Souls is quite accurate but not entirely correct as the game also provide a lot of new stuffs that makes it stands out enough from the previous games i.e: ashes summons, ashes of war modification, stealth, crafting system, horse ride, jumping, jumping attack, day and night cycle, block counter, robust exploration, secret dungeons, memorable new bosses & characters and lot more. But above all, it is the level of freedom & flexibility of exploration that I haven’t really experienced since playing Skyrim on PS3.

HFW is a good game sure but well it just doesn’t reach the hype Elden Ring does. It is as simple as that. This could literally be applied to anything really not just Elden Ring, it’s totally fine if you have criticism about something but please give credits where its due.

  • Leave it to the EU to elevate soccer games, be it uncanny valleys or supersonic acrobatic rocket-powered battle cars.

  • As a fan of the Horizon franchise, and one who is enjoying Forbidden West a lot, I hope it sells enough to warrant a 3rd installment. As a person who enjoyed Halle gong games when I had the time and respects video games as a whole, respect and hope Elden Ring keeps selling well.

For all of those pitting Forbidden West against Elden Ring, there’s room for both. I personably wouldn’t want Horizon to be exactly like Elden Ring and vise versa.

  • 1440p and VRR software update!!!
VRR is crucial for Elden Ring Performance mode!

  • Let’s us continue to like what we like, and not like what we think we like. I’ll keep playing Final Fantasy XIV until I decide to finally install Babylon’s Fall.

  • Sony got confident and did not advertise the game accurately. They underestimated Elder Ring
